Sewing With Turettes

Yesterday, I want to the massive Blowann fabric sale. Man
that was a kick ass sale. Broadcloth was going for
cheep. Shit, you can't even get $1.49 broadcloth at
Gaffies, and I'm an avid Gaffies fan. So what I got was,
5 yards of white broadcloth, 5 yards of this really pretty
blue broadcloth, and 5 yards and 30 inches of silver pvc
(mmmm silver pvc), I got for $.99 cent a piece two
Simplicity patterns, Trinity (Type) from the Matrix (Type)
pattern, and a pattern for something called a caplet. You
see caplets a lot for winter Gothic & Lolita outfits. But
I should have tried to get velvet to make that with, but
dude, velvet is sooooooooo expensive. On adverage it's
about $9.99 a yard. Earlier this year, I'm managed to
find some for $3.99 a yard, but I kinda squandered it on
something really stupid (that was the story of my life
during the first three and a half months of this year),
who knew......

What else did I get??? Ohh! I got my grommiter!

*Happy Aa-Chan dance...*

And I got my grommiter for $8.24

*Happy Aa-chan dance again...*

I also got some replacement grommits, sewing machine oil;
which I found out I desperately needed, becasue I didn't
notice that my baby was making really odd sounds until
after I oiled it and it wasn't making that sound anymore,
I also got a rotary wheel and a replacement blade. Which
considering the instructions for working with that pvc
said you should use a really really sharp pair of sissors,
which I think my sissors may have been able to handle it,
but I didn't wanna chance it. I probably sould have also
gotten a pair of professional dressmaker sissors, but too
late.

Now, that you know all that useless information, here's
where the turetts comes in.

I was working on my Dover Days dress, which is really
going to blow, but I just realized that everytime I sew
I'm just screaming profanites. I find sewing very
relaxing that is until I make some kind of stupid mistake
and the turettes start. I had messed up on many parts of
this dress. The skirt for starters, then there's
something wrong with my sleeves, then there's my
bodice... Now, I'm very proud of my darts. They actually
came out kinda nice for having never ever done a dart in
my life, but I had made a mistake with that and it had to
be seam ripped, so I seam ripped it and started again,
second time was a charm.

Sometime today, I'm going to go back up there and have
another bout of turettes again, cause I have to attach the
sleeves to the bodice and then the reall curse fest will
begin when I start on the skirt. I've decided not to
pleat the skirt, just gather it up and deal, I'm not in
the mood.

Ahh, sewing with turettes is so much fun.

Woo-hoo: Mmm, shopping spree at Blowann's. They'll
probably never have a sale that good again.

Barf: Don't talk to me about that damn Dover Days dress.
