Unspoken

thwarted

So much for my relaxing evening at the theatre. Well,
actually, all was not lost. The actor I was expecting to
see didn't perform and the one who did was just awful.
Really disappointing. Perhaps you think I'm complaining
about an understudy but it's just the opposite. I went
specifically to see the understudy and I ended up seeing
the principle. Terrible. An off night? Perhaps. I don't
know. But I was not at all satisfied with his performance,
particularly considering this is my all-time favorite
character. He destroyed him - took away every bit of
everything that makes me love him. What a waste. Of course,
the rest of the cast was wonderful so, as I said, all was
not lost. I did still enjoy the majority of the show and it
was nice to see the new cast members and the newly spruced
up and spiffy chandelier.

Otherwise, today was a decent day. I had the theatre to
look forward to (not knowing at the time how that would
turn out), I went to the farm and bought my mother two
gorgeous burgundy mums for her birthday, and relaxed a bit.
The weather has turned suddenly frigid and I love it. I
wore boots today! And my velvet coat! Hurrah! Weird
annoying thing: while I was out, the sun was shining and
the sky was blue so I got my disgustingly filthy car
washed. Wouldn't you know it - on my way home, it began to
rain. The car hadn't even completely dried yet! Typical.
But that's only the annoying part. The weird thing is this:
it stopped raining pretty quickly and the sun came back
out. About 35 minutes later, a monstrous black cloud
appeared out of no where (as if by magic). There was a gust
of bitterly cold wind and it began to hail. Hail! What??
Only lasted 4 minutes or so but how odd!

No work tomorrow because I haven't gotten a phone call yet
(don't expect one either as it's 1am!) and my 24-hour Rule
is in effect. Dinner tomorrow night for my mother's
birthday with my sister and her husband. I have to find out
how her sick kitty is doing. Poor dear. I love that cat. We
were crying together on the phone the other day after she
took him to the vet. Apparently it's not as bad as they
first thought but things still don't look very promising.
So sad.

And on that cheerful note, I bid you good night.

Until we meet again...
