my stupid mouth
2003-09-03 21:36:56 (UTC)

I can't hit it; I keep striking out.

ok, ok, granted the person was talking about baseball, but
the implications are funnier, especially after the
famous "it'll pop up" quote.

picture it: shepherd hill, 2003 (thank you, sophia)
i'm sitting in the cafeteria across from linz, minding my
own business. i'm eating a banana, carefully breaking off
pieces of it so that no one will misinterpret my actions,
when all of a sudden this kid i've never talked to before
comes up to me and says (completely seriously and rather
anxiously), "can i have a piece of your banana?" he
mumbled the next part, which i believe was at least a quasi-
explanation involving one of his friends. i figured he
wasn't going to eat it, but all he did was leave it on his
table. i felt obligated to pick it up since he just left
it there, but instead i hid the evidence (my banana peel).

hmmm, anything else of interest? *taps forefinger against
temple*

oh, during calculus, mr. mulcahy came into our room
(probably just to annoy mrs. leach) and asked who
had "squealed" on him to mrs. leach that he hadn't taught
us inverse trig functions (which he didn't). he pretended
it was damon, even though it really wasn't anyone in
particular; actually, it was probably he himself who did
it. so i was walking to the bus, and i sort of caught up
with mr. mulcahy (or, rather, he waited for me to catch up
with him...), and he asked if it was me who "squealed" (i
hate that word) ion him. he went on to say that, "no, it
couldn't havce been" me. and he said something about mrs.
leach being upset about that; i think he was joking. but i
said, "don't worry; i could take her for you," implying
that i have no problem taking that woman down (ok, she's
not THAT bad...i just don't like the way she teaches...and
i was kdding, honest). so he said, "i know you could," and
he was serious even though he sort of laughed in surprise
at my comment. ah, it's good knowing i have a math teacher
on my side. that could come in handy some day.

meanwhile...in humanities...it's such a joke! we have a
student teacher, who is supposed to "assist" our regular
teacher, but he taught for the entire long block today (an
hour and a half), and he even began class BEFORE the
morning announcements (not that anyone listens to those).
this was what class consited of: "listen to the song.
listen to me tell you the fabricated answers to all of the
things that i'm too lazy to/don't know how to explain.
write down what colors you see when you hear this song.
how would you dance to it?" no joke. if you see colors
when you hear music, can i have some of what you're on?
seriously, you may want to think about getting some help
with that addiction.
