superstitions (total nonsense)

Now be honest, how many of you refuse to move an inch
or let a new person into the room or won't switch seats
when your team is winning or on a roll?? and how many of
you change seats or change the channel then change it back
right way when your team starts doing poorly?? lol, i know
some of you know what i'm talking about, like when the
ducks were playing the devils in the finals and my dad went
to the kitchen and the ducks scored, then he came back and
the devils scored, mark yelled at him to get back in the
kitchen and i said for him to stay, lol. The point is that
we all have our superstitions although they have absolutely
no bearing on the outcome. Now some people argue for this
collective will nonsense and stuff, and sometimes it just
gives you a comfortable mindset, which could affect your
own personal performance, lol, but let's face it, we're not
all barry zito, we don't all need to face our shoes
directly south before every game... our stupid
superstitions rarely do anything, we're sometimes thousands
of miles away, yet we think that by staying in a room or
not switching chairs we can affect something... ummmmm, no,
but it does give us hope and perhaps feeds our delusions of
grandeur, making us feel more important. These
superstitions do also provide some memorable sports
moments. I mean, honestly, who can forget Fisk waving the
ball fair, jumping and waving jumping and waving, jumping
and waving, then the crowd just explodes when the ball
hooks just inside the foul pole, or how bout the bill
buckner ball?? Of course, the first thing to EVERYONE's
mind was "the curse" the game was over, the red sox were
going, but the soft grounder somehow made it through his
legs, a grounder that any little leaguer coulda easily
fielded.... how bout even the rally monkey, huh?? as
annoying as it was, people seemed to think that it inspired
the team and led them to victory (my ass, lol) but these
superstitions give us something to believe in, hope that we
can make a difference, or that efforts are futile, that we
can change something with just our will....
I know that made like no sense, i would do so much
better if i edited, but am i going to?? no, and why not??
cuz i'm lazy, lol, so just enjoy it as it is, or skip it, i
really don't care
