Gay Marriage?

Ok, lil wasted, but I'll try to nail this out.

First off -- I'm not gay.

This country was founded upon the belief that we are free
to do with what we wish, as long as it does not interfere
with anyone else's rights. Fact is -- as long as
homosexual marriage doesn't interfere with my way of life -
- who am I to say its right or wrong? My morals should
never dictate the lives of others.

By 2005-2006, it WILL be legal. If you look at the
Constitution carefully, it should already be legal -- if
you look at the Full Faith and Credit Clause and apply it
to Vertmont. If you can get married in Las Vegas, and the
marriage liscence applies in your home state, then you are
legally entitled to get married in Vermont -- where
homosexual marriage is permitted -- and that marriage
license SHOULD have the same merit as any marriage license.

Sodomy laws and anti-gay laws are just another form of
homopohobia -- there is NO good reason why some person
should not be able to marry whomever they way. In fact,
most prominent argument against gay marriage is that its
against God .. well, our government's supposed to be
against forms of religion, right? The sheer mention of
God should be stricken from any government ACCORDING TO
THE U.S. CONSTITUTION. I do believe religion belongs in
government, but as a law scholar, you have to realize that
according to teh 1st amendment, the GOVERNMENT MAY NOT
RECOGNIZE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ANY RELIGION. The
acknowledgement of the bible is actually against the
Constitution.

So yeh .. America -- take a breathe and realize that we
are the "land of the free" .. what will it hurt you to let
people do what they feel is right? How high on a pedestal
do you consider yourself to be to dictate what other's
should believe. Unless YOU are gay, you have no voice --
because you do not know what it feels like (..although
neither do i.. i don't offer insights on how gay people DO
feel about this issue...I do believe it to be wrong, but I
am not someone who should dictate the actions of others)

-D
