My friend is dead in a drunk driving accident.

I just found out tonight that a friend was killed monday
6/16 in a drunken incident. He was the passenger in the car
and the driver was drunk. My friend was also drunk, and
apparently too impaired to care about what he was doing. No
one at the home they left had been sober enough to bother
saying that they shouldn't leave.

The driver drove off the road and rolled the car down an
embankment into the water upside down. The driver and the
other passenger made it out with minor injuries. The driver
took off running, and the other passenger tried to help my
friend, and tried to keep the car from floating away in the
swollen current of the creek , as it had flooded from the
rains. He failed at both. They found my friend dead 7 hours
later.

The driver is in jail for 2-6 years. If the average person
lives to age 76 - my friend just lost 54 years. That is a
shitty trade-off. I found out today, and didn't even get to
go to the funeral. Now it's too late to say goodbye
properly.

With July 4th coming up, please, none of you drink and
drive. Don't let friends drive drunk. AND MAKE SURE THERE
IS ALWAYS SOMEONE SOBER IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE. PLEASE.

I'm tired of losing friends this way.

I Love You All.
