visplio 13:19

More Capri Sun. The Crystal Method. The ever-present sketchbok
filled with self taught anatomy lessons. Its 1:19. Its hot as hell
and I just woke up. I start my dance class tonight even though I've
had plenty of time to sleep I still feel a little tired and I just
hope I have enough energy to make it until 10:15. Maybe I'll even be
able to cruise up to Mirmar (The Base where they filmed "Top Gun"
back when it was still a naval air station.) and visit my jarhead
buddie Jason and see how his tattoo is going. Yesterday he told me
the most awful news. He wanted a full tribal sleeve and asked me to
draw it just like the one George Clooney had in the movie, "From
Dusk 'Til Dawn." So going off some still shots he took from the
movie and put on his computer, I sketched out his tattoo design.
Then I began to draw it on his arm with some crappy felt pens
because the Sharpie we had made too thick of a line, and wishing I
was doing it with eyeliner (What I used to draw a tribal sun-like
design for my ex boyfriend C who's in the navy - damn I know too
many people in the military - blah! ;) ) because eyeliner is not too
thick and it stays on. The whole process took about three hours. I
ended up crashing on the couch in Jason's barricks because I was so
tired and didn't feel like white knuckling all the way back home.

So yesterday Jason goes to work with just the felt pen design and he
goes with his cami jacket sleeves ROLLED UP and the ink showing. Now
for those of you who don't know this, military guys get in trouble
for any kind of markings that are showing unless its an actual
tattoo. But even actual tattoos have their limits too because it
can't go past the wrist or past the collar line on the neck. And if
its just regular pens, the commanding officer (or who's ever in
charge) will tell them to WASH IT OFF. Yep. Three hours of work had
to get washed off because Jason didn't keep his sleeves down. Blah!
When he called me at Jen's and told me, I almost cried. He said he
slavaged most of the lines and wanted me to redo most of them but I
had to work last night and couldn't make it over there. Its horrible
though. All that work I put into it.

Damn.
