Hugh's Great Adventure
I just got back from the high school to pick up Hugh from
his senior class trip. The itinerary said they were going
to be back at 3:30 p.m. but I've done this for years.
They're ALWAYS late! I didn't leave the house until 4:30
p.m. I went prepared--I had a book to read and a Coke to
drink. But as I drove in they were just unloading the
vans! Wow! Am I good or what? After years and years I
finally have perfect timing and now I'm done!
I don't know if I have unusual teen-agers or what but mine
talk all the time. They are not sullen and silent on car
rides. Hugh told me some funny stories on the ride back
Seems there was one kid who snores really, really loud.
("Louder than you, Mom." "You told them that,
didn't you?" "Yep." This is the down side of
teenagers.) It was so loud Hugh couldn't sleep but he was
sooo... tired. He got up to use the bathroom and he
was so tired he started crying. Then he sat down on the
toilet and fell asleep. He woke up about an hour later and
went back out but the kid was still snoring really loud.
So he went back to the bathroom, cried some more, sat back
down on the toilet and slept there the rest of the night.
Second story: He bought himself a t-shirt that
reads "Cheese is good." He wore it
when they went to Subway. When he ordered his sandwich he
was asked if he wanted cheese on it. He didn't say
anything. He just looked at the lady, cleared his throat
and straightened out his shirt.
Also, here's one of his favorite jokes.
Q.Why does a chicken coop have two doors?
A. Because if it had four doors it'd be a sedan.
Who says teenagers aren't fun?
