RIP Nana

Well today my grandmother passed away. She passed on
about an hour ago. It's sad to hear but it wasn't
unexpected. She had been sick ever since she broke her
hip last December. We will certainly miss her unique mix
of honesty and experience. My grandmother is someone who
none of us will ever forget.

My grandmother has been a huge influence on my life and
she will continue to be. She helped me become a baseball
fan and love the Alanta Braves. She got me hooked on The
Price is Right. It was her that took care of me in the
afternoons in preschool and elementary school. Her
constant encouragement in whatever I did was a driving
force to get me where I am today. My grandmother is a
very special person to all of us that knew her closely.

I think that I will remember her most for her impact on my
mom and how it has impacted the relationship that my mom
and I have. It's amazing to see how my mom took care of
her, especially in the final months and years of her
life. I hope that I will be able to do that for my mother
when she retires and gets older.

This weekend me, my mom, my sister, my 2 aunts, uncle, and
cousin are going to be meeting in Daytona to have a small
service and get the details together. We have a lot to
discuss, including when to go to Myrtle Beach to bury her
ashes next to my grandfather, who died before I was born.
I am not sure when this is going to be updated again, but
the reasons are obvious.

Nana we love you and miss you
