Friday May 23rd, Le Rox

We're back!!

After blowing some socks off the last time we played Le
Rox, we were invited back, this time to play as the second
last band!! Yeah for us! The night started off
with ‘Coldest Apes’ a band with a very different sort of
sound. Sort of like Powderfinger meets Peral Jam, nice.
Next up was punk band, “Phat Chalk” who knocked out a
totally sweet rendition of “Learning To Fly” by the Foo
Fighters.

Of course the shining star of the night was when the Hammer
boys took to the stage. After much deliberation (well, some
deliberation) we decided to drop some of the ‘fairier’
tunes in look of a heavier set. With Greg’s new 150w Laney
amp things were already looking loud for the night, ubt
when you throw in the Galleon Kruger head with the Hartke
4x10 I hired for my bass rig and Danny using a Marshall
with (shock, horror) overdrive for “On A High”, we were, to
coin Greg’s favourite phrase, “fuller than a fat chick’s
undies”.

Also notable was the first time we played “Out/Today”
(Which I think is still yet to be officially named) in
front of anyone but Quinn’s brother Jesse. And I would like
to say it went down an absolute treat.

The final band of the night, “Radiophobic” were a tight,
flat out band that managed to hold even Danny in awe.
Hopefully we can work out some sort of collaboration with
those guys, they were neat.

Set List:

· Animal
· Asylum
· On A High
· Change
· Out/Today
