woman tree eyes

Tentative name for my newest piece. One vision of a woman
acrylic painted front view of face with large centers for
her eyes and a bold facial outline. No mouth, nose. This
9x11 painting fastened inside a box (once a desk drawer
painted also with acrylic). Also fastened are pine cross
sections that resemble eyes, one on top and one inside the
box. Also fastened, both inside, are slant cut buckthorn
pieces from a trunk about 2 inches in diameter. They too
resemble eyes, slant eyes, perhaps like a cat. On the back
of the box (rough pressed board), is another woman, dark
painted with lighter features and a powerful arm stretched
across before the viewer. I am reading Warrier Woman by
Jeannine Davis-Kimball -- there were many more such
warriers than patriarchal socieities admint. Denieal ain't
no river in Egypt.
