today is the greatest day
The Lovers, The Dreamers and Me
Well today consisted of me doing two reading responses to
two of my units at University (theatre studies, and
creative industries). In between this I also watched two
great films. Hmmm I borrowed them out from the uni
library.. It's so cool there's heaps of hard-to-find films
there that I can access whenever I want... It's great. I
watched "Bicycle Thieves" an Italian film from 1948. I
loved this film. It's about a father an his son searching a
city for a stolen bicycle. It's stunning naturalism allows
for some very beautiful images to come from the simple
narrative. And the unexpected tragic ending is heart-
wrenching, yet very poigniant. I also watched "Double
Indemnity" A Billy Wilder film from 1944. It's so cool...
one of the most perfect film noirs I've ever seen. It
builds so perfectly. I would love to make a remake of that
film one day if I became a famous director. Yes! Hmm I went
to worship practice tonight.. and Richard got me to go and
walk Kaelah over to the church from the hyperdome.. so I
didn't end up actually practicing rather than more so just
waiting for Kaelah at a bus stop next to a shopping centre.
Interesting. Phil rang me while I was waiting for her. He
sounded like he's been having an awesomely fun time at
Gatton, and he might be coming to Brissy this weekend for
Anita's engagement party, so that will be cool. I really
wanna see him hey.. I miss him stacks. He asked me tonight
if I had become a pot-head. I was just like. "Ummm no..
What the hell?". Yes. I am listening to Kermit the Frogs
beautiful muppet song "The Raibow Connection" YEEEEHAAAWWW!
Now it is time for bed Goodnight to all the lovers, the
dreamers and me!
"What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing and what do we
think we might see?"
