The World According to Johndus

I don't need a 19 year old to tell me my ethics...

The other night, I had to go to ccd to spend 2 hrs hearing
about stupid stuff in order to get confirmed. This girl,
(who I have no clue why she was there), asked an intriguing
question:

Q.) Is a U.S. arms race against ethical, when U.S. citizens
are poor?

I loved the question. Especially since I was the only 15
year old there who remotely understood it. An arms race is
when countries build up their supply of weapons against
another country. A perfect example would be 50 years of
the Cold War.
**I personally believe that it is ethical**
Unfortunately, that 19 year old told me that it's not and
was getting around that I'm a bad Catholic if I don't
believe her. Maybe I'm not a good catholic, in fact, I know
I'm not, but I don't need some blonde bitch telling me how
to feel. I have no problem with one's opinion, in fact, I
welcome it. However, I don't appreciate it when one tells
me that I'm a bad person because of certain beliefs.
I will admit, the woman did have some good points, but
her explaination was a big paradox. She said that an arms
race makes people poor. An arms race doesn't make people
poor, people make people poor!
She said that most Americans that are homeless are too
mentally ill to get a job, and most of the time they
wouldn't have it any other way. So what diffrence does it
make whether we spend a billion on missles, grenades,m-16's
OR a billion on putting these people in insane asylums
(which usually treats these mentally ill people like shit).
I'd love to see these people rehabilitated, but
realistically, Altoona couldn't afford such a procedure.
Building up a supply of weapons keeps sick bastards
like Suddam Hussein, Kim-Jong-Il, and any other tyrannous
villian from turning the U.S. into a crater. Furthermore,
doing so protects us Americans, from the richest person in
America, to the poorest. After all, all citizens are
granted equal protection under the law.
Of course, the blonde wonder had to contradict me yet
again. She said that it's immoral to create weapons that
could kill people. No shit! We don't have weapons because
we like them, we have them because we don't want two planes
going into New York again! But I guess it is moral to use
weapons if you're defending the word of god, right? NO! The
only thing that's immoral is the fact that more and more
organized religions are conflicting with one another,
causing chaos.
I'm not sure who's right, but I do know one thing: I
sure showed that dumb college girl!
