The Lyrics to the Songs

Back from Chicago, Mind in 'Nam

I went to Chicago on Friday morning and got back tonight
around seven. I was absolutely enthralling to get out of my
suburban wasteland and get a chance to see some new things
again. However, in a couple of days things will return to
normal and I'll be craving an escape from my life. But I
don't suppose anyone my age is really doing what they want
to do and totally happy with the way their life is going.

I've been reading a book about Vietnam, just a compilation
of veterans telling their stories. My dad's cousin is in
there. I think he was the one that shot himself in a
veteran's hospital... Anyway, it's tragic how much they had
to go through, having to shoot the innocent and those
seeming so, seeing their companions go through agony and
death, and then coming home to an apathetic society. You'd
think the anti-everything me would be opposed to the army
and the war, wouldn't you? Well, you'r right, I am. But
I've been taught by my father and my own morals that just
because the war is wrong, it doesn't mean the people
fighting should be treated any worse. They followed orders,
they did what their country brainwashed them into doing. I
give all soldiers and veterans the highest respect I can
give. It's a shame they've had to go through so much.

Let me think of something else. Ahh, yes. Anyone who I
actually know, or anyone from Grand Rapids who's into the
music I may have previously described, go to Skelletones on
Saturday, March 1 to see two very awesome bands and have a
fun time. I'm pretty sure the site is www.skelletones.com
if you need more information. Thanks.
