I'm a tockley

I'm so damn pissed off at myself. I found out last night at
like midnight that i was sposed to be going to this
Orientation week thing today. Well that was a nice shock. I
was just like so damn cut that i didn't find out sooner.
anyway I had to be there pretty early and it was gonna take
me a while to get there. So I set my alarm for 5am. Anyway,
I didn't wake up from it and I ended up sleeping in to 11.
Damn i was pissed off. I's such a dumb bastard for not
finding out sooner. Renee went to it and she reckons that
i've stuffed myself up for theatre studies. Man! I pray to
God that I haven't. This is pissing me off so bad. I'm just
gonna have to rock up to class on Monday. Everybody else is
gonna know what their doing except for me. I'm gonna feel
so out of place. DAMN THIS IS NOT A COOL WAY TO START THE
NEXT THREE BLOODY YEARS! anyway... yeah so that pissed me
off today. Hmm I cried today... twice. I love crying.. it's
the most beautiful thing. and because I don't cry all that
often it's the most beautiful thing when i do cry. Cos it
basically means that I'm at my emotional peak! And i was
just watching a movie. I watched American Beauty today...
my favourite movie ever. and yeah I must have watched it so
many times.. and i've never cried in it before.. it was
strange that it moved me so much today.. I love that
movie.. it inspires me so much! So well crafted. AHHHHH!
very nice. Right now I am listening to Bob Dylan. Been
listening to a lot of him today.. "shelter from the storm"
Dylan is excellent.. such a great poet.. actually.. i'll
post the lyrics to this song underneath this message. Such
an influential human being.. Bob Dylan.. I'm very cut that
i missed his show. I listened to a lot of 60's music
today.. namely Led Zeplin, Rolling Stones and Dylan... oh
plus a bit of Hendrix. Man I love music. At the moment i
feel that numb feeling (a general sign that there is too
much going through me to sense anything) it's a very
strange and beautiful feeling. I hate it and love it at the
same time. Anyway before I leave I shall give you the Bob
Dylan lyrics.....

Shelter From the Storm

'Twas in another lifetime, one of toil and blood
When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud
I came in from the wilderness, a creature void of form.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

And if I pass this way again, you can rest assured
I'll always do my best for her, on that I give my word
In a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to
be warm.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk
involved
Everything up to that point had been left unresolved.
Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail,
Poisoned in the bushes an' blown out on the trail,
Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of
thorns.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Now there's a wall between us, somethin' there's been lost
I took too much for granted, got my signals crossed.
Just to think that it all began on a long-forgotten morn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Well, the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides
a mount
But nothing really matters much, it's doom alone that counts
And the one-eyed undertaker, he blows a futile horn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I've heard newborn babies wailin' like a mournin' dove
And old men with broken teeth stranded without love.
Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and
forlorn?
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

In a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes
I bargained for salvation an' they gave me a lethal dose.
I offered up my innocence and got repaid with scorn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Well, I'm livin' in a foreign country but I'm bound to
cross the line
Beauty walks a razor's edge, someday I'll make it mine.
If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her
were born.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

- Bob Dylan (Blood on the Tracks, 1975)
