Dave's Mental Meanderings

As a wiser man than myself once said, "Here's to beer. The
cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems." If you
guessed Homer Simpson, you are correct. Granted, perhaps
Homer exaggerated a bit, but the essence of the statement
is true. For example, consider the following: I drink all
weekend most weekends, thus putting off any schoolwork for
the weekend until Sunday night. Needless to say, when
Sunday night actually rolls around, I am entirely too worn
out to do anything of any sort of productive nature.
Therefore, beer causes the problem of procrastination. The
price I pay for this procrastination is working harder
Monday through Thursday than I would have had I taken
initiative and done work on the weekend. However, come
Friday, I get nice and blasted so as to reward myself for
all of the hard work I've done all week. In summary, beer
causes the problem of procrastination, and then solves it
by taking my mind off how much schoolwork sucks for a
couple nights.
To anyone who is against drinking, this journal entry is
probably not for you, and I'm sure you have some sort of
moral objection to drinking away your troubles. But, for a
far from perfect fella like myself, it works just fine.
