golden years

i have been debating, throughout my million laps in the
pool, whether or not to give out the link. i still haven't
decided. i guess if you are reading this now, then i went
for it. you better appreciate it! this is a big deal!

i finally told him. i let him know what was up and it
wasn't at all like i thought it was going to be. first of
all, i am not really sure how it even came up in
conversation...
anyway, he understood. he was flattered. then he went on
to marry (the other woman)...or so the movie goes. but
things are fine now. we are still good friends. nothing
has changed, except for the fact that my guts have been put
on display and nobody cares. especially me.
so, i think that school will be a lot easier to swallow
once swimming is over and done with. it is like a shot.
an injection of something really terrible that sticks
around in your system for two hours, but that affects the
rest of your evening. and i have to take this shot daily.
all but one day of every freaking week. does my mother
realize that i compare swimming to a painful injection of
god-knows-what? does she care? of course not. she is
menopausal and it's all about her now. no one else is
allowed to complain. and if she wants to stucco the
kitchen wall, she better not hear any lip about it!...which
was extremely difficult for me, being the sarcastic person
that i am. do you remember that commercial where the
mother stucco-ed the inside of her house and the kids
walked around all tense and afraid to touch walls for fear
of terrible pain? that is a little more rough of a version
of what my mother has done to our freaking kitchen. and
she has decided to paint it yellow. of all colors to slap
into a brown themed house. yellow. i guess she has built
up an immunity to her crazy pills...
my eyelids are so heavy. but i still have homework. and i
still want to read my book. and i still want to watch 'one
flew over the cuckoo's nest'...and it's already 7. where
does the time go? oh yea, it is devoted to chlorine.
can you think of a worse invention than a chlorinated
swimming pool lined in metal? well, i guess that's just me
because i hate chlorine and i hate metal.

time for chocolate chip cookies and spanish homework! my
two favorite things...
