Allan Was In Da House

I just spent the weekend with my brother, Allan, who came
to visit me from Portland (Oregon), and I'd have to say I
ate more in the last three days than I had in the last
three weeks. It seemed Allan developed an affinity for
cooking. Hence, he whipped up grilled vegetable
quesadillas before I could say "adelante" ("go ahead," in
Spanish). It was nice to have him around. For one thing,
it finally gave me a chance (and a reason) to play tourist
around my new city of residence. We did mostly indoor
stuff, though, because the midwest winters don't mess
around. In fact, it had snowed 6 inches the night before
Allan's flight into St. Louis. It didn't stop us from
driving around in my proving-to-be-real-handy Montero
Sport. We rode a tram up 630 feet to the observation deck
at the top of the Gateway Arch, took an interesting one-
hour tour of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery where we learned
about the wonderful methods that produce Bud Light, and
moseyed around the multiple exhibits at the St. Louis Art
Museum (or SLAM, for short). We also managed to get our
lazy asses off the movie-watching couch to watch a live
show at the Creepy Crawl, a downtown venue, where my
eardrums were treated to loud, obnoxious punk/ska
reverberations they referred to as music. I can't say I'm
too excited to go back to work tomorrow. But, I suppose I
should cater to that primary reason I now reside in St.
Louis. The scary thing is that, in five days, I will have been in
St. Louis for two months! My, how time flies when you're having fun!
