New Year

Yesterday and today I'm gonna cram into one post. In the
day yesterday, I went over to Phil's with Neil and Gag. We
just sat around in his room listening to music and watching
him make a guitar for his "Stars in Their Eyes" New Year's
performance. Quite good fun.

After I got home, I had something to eat and then phoned
Neil to see what we were doing later on. We decided on
going to Mumbles with Matt Gray to the pub where Crag
works. Town was gonna be really busy and a nightmare to
get home, so Mumbles didn't seem too bad.

Neil came round about 8 and we had a drink or two, then
went to meet Matt at the sea front about 9:20. It was
absolutely freezing by the sea, and we had to walk about a
mile and a half in the rain along the front to Mumbles,
then. Lol. I kept drinking beer and Neil and Matt shared
a bottle of Jack Daniels and Coke.

We got to the Village Inn (Crag's work) at I dunno what
time, and we just stayed there for a long while. It wasn't
all that fun, really. It was really packed most of the
time and the music was crappy. =/ I just kept on drinking
and everything seemed alright.

I saw this guy, Mark Williams who I used to hang round with
when I was a kid. His brothers and mine, we'd all play
football on the street nearly every day, and get shouted at
by the neighbours. Or, we'd skateboard down the hill all
day, or we'd go round each other's houses and play the
computer. Or go for bike rides. Used to be really good
fun. Mark was very drunk last night. He just shouted some
random stuff at me and gave me a drunken hug.

He had this friend with him. I recognised his face, but I
couldn't remember his name. He's the grumpiest person
ever. All he does is whinge. His face shows a permanent
frown. I don't know what anyone can do to make him smile.
He gave me a few nasy looks too. Heh. Stupid moo.

...I helped sweep up Craig's pub at the end of the night,
much to the amusement of the people working there.

"Can I have a go at sweeping?"
"Yeah, be my guest..."

..."Sweeping is so much fun..."

After sweeping, Craig finished for the night and we went to
see if we could meet James in his pub. But, he was still
working...so we left him. Heh.

At this point, it was raining so much and everyone was
soaking. We stopped to get something to eat from the Chip
shop-place and then started walking up to The Newton Inn
because it was supposed to be open until 3am or something.

...Craig had these little bottles of beer, and me and Neil
were trying to open the on the end of walls. Bit of a
disaster. Neil banged mine open, but cut his finger open.
And when I started whacking neils bottle cap with my fist,
the bottle opened...but I was in quite a bit of pain! Lol.

I woke up this morning to a quite considerably swollen
hand. =s Hurts to touch. So, um, I'm not touching it.

When we were close to the Newton Inn, I decided I just
wanted to get home to sleep, so I said I was off. I don't
know if they really trusted me to get home from there in
the state I was...'specially not on my own. But i did. =)

I ran most of the way. Only stopped once or twice to catch
my breath. I love the way I can run for so long without
tiring when I'm drunk. I saw two people on the way home
walking. Just to discard the fear that I was a looney out
on the prowl, I shouted to them "Happy New Year!" Heh. I
think that probably made them feel more wary about me. =)

When I got home, I had a chocolate muffin and went to bed.
I was absolutely soaked. I had to get up at 9 to get ready
for work at 10. =s

Work was deserted for the first half hour of opening. No
one came in. Lol. It wasn't busy at all for the time I
was there. I just moped around and tried to stop myself
from being sick. All the artificial light and the stale
air in there made me nearly puke. =s

They wanted me to work the whole day instead of 4 hours,
but i couldn't stand it there the whole day. I just wanted
to get home and collapse. Couldn't do that right away,
though. My Dad wanted a look in Homebase and then Argos,
and then drove to 2 different places to find a shop selling
papers. Both didn't. Lol.

I watched the end of E.T when i got home and then fell
asleep. Every time I woke up from someone making a noise,
the feeling of exhaustion in me was so bad. I just closed
my eyes right back again and fell asleep. Heh.

I'm just knackered now. I'm gonna love the sleep tonight
and lie in tomorrow.

New Year's not been so bad. Not much on my mind. Did
think this morning about how long my life would actually be
if i lived to be 70 or something. How boring things might
get, and whether I could cope with that mentally. =/ I
probably could...just doubting myself.

Hmm...

New years resolutions and stuff I'll write about tomorrow,
I think.

Happy New Year,

Andrew.
