Weekend Update

It has been a few days since I've updated my diary. I
picked up my car on Friday. Despite my best sad pouty
face, flirty attitude, low plunging top and very short
skirt, the repair bill was still $680. The mechanic said
that damage was caused by driving the car after it
overheated. I decided this weekend to trade the car in on
something new. I am going to go out car shopping this
week. School starts back on the 27th and I want to have
something new by then.

I spent most of the weekend at my sister's house watching
her kids while she and her husband got away for a couple of
nights. It was nice spending time with the kids. I don't
do that often enough. They are really good kids. We went
to the zoo on Saturday. It has been a few years since I've
been at the zoo. They have done a lot of renovation and
improvement. It was a bit overcast but otherwise an
excellent day.

I got online on my sister's computer Saturday night and
updated my webpage with some new graphics. I created an
entirely new version of my webpage but I haven't switched
it over yet. I need to spend some more time working on
it. Time goes by so fast when I'm online. I ended up
staying up until 2:00 in the morning.

My sister Cindy is a real slob when it comes to
housekeeping. She was like that when we were growing up
too. I'm just the opposite. How can two sisters who are
only 3 years apart in age be so different? I spent all day
Sunday cleaning Cindy's house. I had the kids pitch in and
do what they could to help.

Paul and Cindy got home around 2:30 in the afternoon. They
didn't seem very happy when they came in. Paul went on an
on about how nice the house looked. Maybe cleaning up
wasn't such a good idea. I didn't intend to make Cindy
look bad. I just can't stand to sit around in a mess like

I have never been one to stick my nose in other people's
business. Cindy has complained about Paul being
inattentive and uninterested in her for years. She and
Paul got married right after high school against everyone's
advice including mine. I hope these two can work through
their problems. I hate to see a marriage fall apart when
there are young children involved. I am certainly no
authority on relationships so I refrain from getting too
involved or offering advice. It didn't seem like the
romantic getaway brought the two of them closer.

I had to hurry home. I had a date with Roger. He was
supposed to pick me up at 4. I made it home just in time.
We went to see Planet of The Apes (his pick). I really
don't care for science fiction movies, but it wasn't too
bad. We had planned to go over to Chip and Donna's to play
cards and drink margaritas after the movie but I was too
tired. Roger took me home and I made us some tuna melts
and milkshakes. We worked the extra calories off together
on my couch and I was in bed by 9:00.
