Nice weekend, for once

I actually did stuff this weekend rather than staying
at home and being bored! On Friday, Frank came over (he's
my ex-boyfriend's best friend, and I'm still friends with
him), and he took me and Ryan out to a movie. He's rolling
in the dough, and he doesn't have any bills or anything to
pay for, and he really wanted us to go (but we each had
about $2 after all the goddamn bills), so he was really
nice and paid for our movie. We saw Original Sin with
Angelina Jolie (I really love that woman) and Antonio
Banderas (Antonio's nice too). I don't know why the hell it
got so many bad reviews, I thought it was an awesome movie,
and not just because of Angie (she has made a shitty movie
or two). I really, really enjoyed it. It was definitely one
of the best movies I've seen in a while. I see just about
every movie that comes out, and I haven't seen one that
good since Blow with Johnny Depp (which was better,
actually one of the best movies I've ever seen). I would
definitely reccommend seeing Original Sin.
On Saturday, Ryan and I went to the Irvine Spectrum
and saw two movies for the price of one, it's very easy to
movie-hop in gigantic theaters like the Spectrum. We saw
American Pie 2 first, which was good, but only if you
enjoyed the first one (which was better than the second
one, I might add). Then we saw the most awesome scary movie
I have ever seen. I really can't think of any other movies
that gave me chills and made me jump as much as this one.
The Others, with Nicole Kidman and some awesome little girl
(she's going to go far, I can tell). The Others seriously
scared Ryan, and he never gets scared at scary movies. I
actually screamed in the theater (but it's okay, because
everyone else was screaming too). Definitely go see that if
you're reading this, and let me know how it went :) After
the movies, we went to Ryan's mom's house for dinner. She
made really good split pea soup, and salads, and Ryan
bought a nice, uncut loaf of sourdough bread to go with it.
The reason I remember the food so clearly is because we
have no money for food, so when we do eat a real meal, it's
quite a treat. Then she took us to the Coach House for "an
evening of comedy", which ended up being only a third of an
evening of comedy, due to the uncomfortable lack of laughs
the first two acts got. I still had more fun than I would
have at home, plus I absolutely adore Michelle (Ryan's
mom). She's great to hang out with.
Sunday topped off this great weekend, because it was
the San Clemente Street Fiesta. This is the one event we
have that the towns in the surrounding area don't have (and
they have things that we don't have too, such as things to
do on Friday and Saturday nights). San Clemente is such a
boring town, I'm surprised we even get an event like the
Street Fiesta, but I'm glad we do. This year Hotel
California played, they're an Eagles cover band, and they
did a really good job. I like the Eagles. I saw Linda from
work, twice, but I didn't really see anyone else I know.
All my friends are on vacation. Gini should be back soon
though, I hope.
This weekend shouldn't be too boring either. The plan
I have goes somewhat like this: On Friday, Ryan and I will
have a party (Gini, Coby, Tiffany, Johannes, Miriam,
Daniel, Shelby, Katie, Kyle, Emma, Paul, and possibly Frank
and Toby (my ex), but probably not them because they're not
really partiers). Nothing big, just a gathering of friends.
Then on Saturday and possibly Sunday, I'm volunteering at
the Pride Festival in Irvine (gay and lesbian pride, that
is). Miriam is going and volunteering, and she didn't want
to go alone, so me and possibly Gini are going to go and
volunteer too. Plus, I really want to go. I missed the
Santa Barbara event somehow, it was supposed to be going on
when Ryan and I vacationed up there, but we found no sign
of it. I'm going to help Miriam find a new girl (she's
single and not loving it), and she's going to be on the
lookout for any girls that I could hook up with. But I
don't want to just meet someone and make plans to fuck. I
want to make a friend (or more than one, that would be even
better). Someone around here that will be around here once
Gini and Tiff go away to college. Friends with benefits
would be nice, but I couldn't care less either way. No
matter what, I will have fun at Pride. I wonder what my
volunteer work will be?
Okay, that's all for now, I should really get back to
work, bye!
