QUOTE: The late November wind came downhill like someone
having important news to tell and having rushed from great
distance to tell it. The excitement was contagious. Dry
maple leaves, long since fallen and settled into heaps in
sheltered spots, now stirred and rustled as if
exclaiming, "tell on, tell on!" Many got up excitedly
from their winter quarters and rushed out to new places, as
if to help spread the exciting news. But what the news was,
nobody knew. ~ Rural Free: A Farmwife's Almanac of Country
