God/Fate

We commonly hear phrases like, “It was just his time to
go”, or “The lord takes us when it is time”, or “He is in a
better place now”. I’ve even heard myself utter these
phrases to a mourning friend or family member. Do we
really believe these ideals, or do we say them to provide
comfort to others or to ourselves? Do we really believe
that fate or god determines our life’s end? Many people
use these phrases and admit to their strong belief in
them. Yet we live our life constantly attempting to
prolong it. We go on diets of eating healthy food, we quit
smoking, and we limit our drinking to only one glass of
wine per night. We direct so much energy to prolong our
lives, do we truly believe that fate or god determines the
end for us? If we die a Christian death, will god pass
judgment on us and deem us a fallen angel? If we die a
Rosicrucian death, will what we do directly influence our
transition into the next life? Some will argue, “These
sacrifices that we make can improve the quality of our life
here and now”. We sacrifice a lot of things that we
enjoy. Perhaps we should think about why.
