My Path to Success with a Dog Future
July 30, 2001
Welcome. Today I have been reading up on a show book that I
have chacked out from the library. In case you might be
wondering I'll give you the title and author so you can
read it to. The name of it is Dog Showing - An Owner's
Guide, by Connie Vanacore. It was made in 1990, so it
is probally not quite up-to-date, but it was still very
helpful.
All of you probally are wondering why I don't just take my
dog out to the shows. Well, unfortuantly, I don't have a
dog. Yes, you heard it. A hopeful future breeder/ handler,
doesn't even have her own dog. I have had several dogs in
the past, though, but my favorite and longest kept was my
teacup poodle, "Nala". Yeah, the name does come from the
Lion King. She was very sweet, but my mother (I'm only 13!)
got rid of it for some problems that Nala had after we took
her to a kennel for two days.
Anyhow, I was reading this book and it got me extremely
interested in showing dogs. It tells just about everything
you need in showing dogz. Getting Started, Setting Goals,
Picking a Show Dog, Training it, Etc... I think that if you
had the same interest as me, you would enjoy it thoroughly.
Until September, I will mainly concentrate on Showing Dogs,
and show traing them.
Well, that concludes my dog stuff today. I think I might
look on the internet for more information on show dogs.
