ramblings of a madwoman

Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses.

If the title doesn't ring a bell, go check out the poetry
of Dorothy Parker. She kicks some serious ass.

Anyway, it's been a couple of weeks of the ol' "Back to
School" business. Something I could surely do without. I'd
rather not attend school 5 days and work on the sixth,
leaving Sunday the only day I can ever truly rest/sleep and
what have you. i've been having some severe difficulties
with Math 11 which has lead me to enlist the help of a
tutor. He's an old dude who lives down my street and is
quite helpful. Still, it doesn't make up for the uber-
shitty teachings of Mr. A. Edwards. Blech.

So last Friday, I was coerced by some customers of Wild
West (my place of employment) to attend a seminar and
dinner detailing the benefits of Raw Foodism. For those of
you who are not aware of this concept, I urge you to check
out It's a neat idea, but as I
found from tasting the delicacies, not for me. If cooked
food truly is an addiction as the seminar people said, then
stick it to my veins. I'm a Western European girl, and I
live to eat, rather than eat to live. Mmmmm pasta. I wish I
was Italian.

Then Saturday... ohhhhh Saturday. I met the man himself,
the legend, the chin. Bruce "Jesus Christ" Campbell. Might
I say that he is possibly the funniest and best natured
actors I've ever had the pleasure of being in the remote
company of. Which is not a large selection of actors, but
still. I can imagine. The event was a book signing of his
informative yet entertaining memoir: "If Chins Could Kill--
Confessions of a B Movie Actor". He did about an hour's
talk then a Q&A session, and damn, the guy is hilarious and
quick on his feet. He actually answered my retarded
question. *Girly sigh* If only he wasn't old enough to be
my dad then... Then I could feel like I wasn't incredibly
gross for fawning over him. heh. So yeah, he signed my book
and told me that I had a "very nice collar" which was
rather flattering to me. I got a quick jackass snapshot
taken with him, and then i went back to my seat to hang out
with some folks I ran into there. (Brian, Adam, Scott,
Scott^2, Jig, etc etc etc) All in all, twas a truly fun and
awesome day. I won't soon forget the wonder of El Brucio.

I don't think I've been doing too much with my life other
than those individual events. I'm checkin' out the Reel Big
Fish/ Crowned King concert out at the Croatian Cultural
Center on Thursday which will undoubtedly be a gas.

I'm really hoping that things stay "good" during the next
couple of months. I'm known for a spot of Seasonal
Affectedness Disorder and it fucks me up hardcore when it
gets cold and grey. I can get really depressed and it's
quite uncool. I guess I'd just appreciate it if people took
it easy on me until the Christmas holidays, but how often
does that happen, eh?
