Pumpkins and Poptart

I was going to be good and not start another quilting
project but when this kit came in the mail yesterday my
intentions went out the window. The good part is that this
project is fast and easy and I've almost completed the top.
All the pieces are appliqued, I've cut out the stripped
borders and the pieces for the sawtooth border so hopefully
the entire top will be completed tomorrow. It's small (34 x
22) and will work well above the sofa, probably in November.

You can see a photo of Pumpkins and Poptart here:

In the wallhanging the bird is a red winged blackbird; it's
called Poptart because Poptart was the name of a finch Jan's
children had when they were small. Also, the name goes well
with pumpkins. I love the star fabric for the background
and the fabric used in the sawtooth border isn't a solid
beige, it's a beige with little and big stars in raised
threads which is lovely but subtle. I'll probably hand quilt
this without a hoop.

I'm looking at some of my books looking for other small,
fast projects I can finish in a few days. I'm also making a
list of Halloween projects I want to make before October and
to that end I've placed holds on several library books on
that topic. I've reached the limit (25) of books I can
place holds on so I hope some come in soon so I can pick
them up and add others.
