Our Going Away Party

So this party was supposed to be a surprise, but we all know
how that's hard to come by, especially since it was so big.

It would have been a great surprise, but just as well it was
still as awesome as ever. Our friends had somehow pulled
together rocking chairs (awesome when you're rolling), a
lake to boat in, special lighting, a live dj, and nothing
near us for maybe a half mile out in the boon docks of North
Carolina.

We began the party by being the last ones to show up... Joe
and I didn't do it on purpose. It only happened that way
because I had to work late. We had dropped our first roll
before we left the house so that maybe by the time we got
there we'd be feeling it a little. It took a while for
mine to kick in, considering I had only eaten one meal 12
hours earlier, but nonetheless it did, and oh...was I happy.
DJ Candyman was playing some trance, and I began my happy
dancing. There weren't many people dancing for as many
people had showed up. My roll really kicked in when I
recognized a remix of a song off the Ministry of Sound
album, and I was dancing up a storm. I let loose the
dancing for a while and grabbed my glow sticks. I broke
them just as I had seen Glow Show break his, by slamming
them on the concrete. I did a little show for the new
rollers and then passed them on. I must share my joy. I
began to conversate and introduce myself and then came the
hugging. I couldn't stop. After that, came the
egg-breaking technique, the hand massaging, the back
massaging, and so on. I just couldn't stop... these people
had never experience one of my massages. I just had to
share the experience since it would be my first and last
meeting with them. Oh they LOVED it.

The weirdest thing about our party was that I only
recognized maybe a third of the crowd. I figured it would
be a bunch of our friends, and most of friends were there,
but some weren't. Will, Kelly, Mike, Sam, Petie, Frank,
Justin, and Andrew all showed up... The only friends that
didn't show were Gena, Ben and his girlfriend, Josh
McCraven, and Dominick Edwards. The other two-thirds of the
crowd were friends of Will's, who was kind enough to have
our party at his farm. Most of them were under 18 and were
friends of his when he was in high school. I could barely
relate with them, but I did the best with what I could.

So by the time 6 a.m. the party began to wind down and we'd
plan to clean up and then head for the mountains for an
overnight camping trip, but Joe was sick and would be sick
for a while, so we decided not to go. However, we went
home, took a four hour power nap, woke up to eat some lunch,
and came back to eat another half roll each. The party was
not over yet for us.

We drove around for a while and ended up at Mike, Kelly, and
Sam's apartment. After an hour of conversation, Kelly and
Will finally took a nap, and Joe and I watched "Son-In-Law"
with Mike. Time passed so quickly... and eventually, we ate
another half a piece each. Mike, Petie, and Sam had decided
to go see "Signs". Joe and I had the apartment to ourselves
so while listening to my "Deep Sky in Silico" cd we
decided to drop a hole roll a piece and made beads, which
hadn't been done since our friends Dan and Nathan left for
Dallas. With a limited bead selection I made several
bracelets, which were admirable. Eventually, Kelly and Will
came down, and Kelly painted my nails which hadn't been done
since I was in high school. I loved it. I'd never had my
finger nails painted while I was rolling. Franks breaks out
the Super NES and began by playing some figthing game, which
I couldn't handle while I was rolling... I'm too happy to
fight, you know? So they put in Donkey Kong Country, which
drove me absolutely crazy since I hadn't seen it in so long,
and it's little monkeys running around knocking out animated
creatures and collecting bananas... hilarious. Eventually,
Joe and I decided to leave, and we ended our rolling binge
for this time. I would have continued if I didn't have
class the next day, but everyone has priorities. Just want
to say THANKS to all those who made such a party so awesome
and being great friends to me and Joe to show up and party
with us one last time. Thanks, I love each one of you.
