July 27, 2002

This weekend was very eventful to say the least. It all
started Thursday July 26. I was having pain in my stomach,
not to much to be unbareable so I didn't think much of it.
Friday we had plans with your Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mike to
go to Six Flags in Massachusetts. When we got up Friday I
still wasn't feeling that good but decided to stick it
out. We walked around the park all day and by the end of
the day the pain was getting worse. At this point I didn't
know that it was "labor" pains. On the way home I was in
agony every bump we hit I wanted to go through the roof but
I managed to handle it. We stopped for dinner and I had
Uncle Mike go to the drug store so that I could get some
medicine. I thought that maybe I just had a bad case of
gas. So I took the medicine but that didn't work either.
We got home and pretty much went right to bed. The next
morning Saturday July 27 I knew something was up. I didn't
sleep much Friday night and I was still in a lot of pain.
So I called the doctor, and they told me to come in and get
checked out. When I got their they determined that I was
in labor and my contractions were pretty close together.
So they gave me some medicine to try and stop the
contractions because at this point you are still 6 weeks
early. The medicine worked but only for an hour and then
they came back full force. So they decided that they would
put me on Maganizium, which is a strong medicine to stop
them. At this point we called Grammie because both your
father and I had a feeling that you weren't going to be
waiting to come. The only bad this was that your Nana and
Papa were in Conneciticut at Foxwoods they had just left
that morning. So I tryed Nana's cell phone but got no
answer so I figured that we would go a little while longer
and see what happened. I knew though that if you were born
she was going to be some mad at me that she wasn't there.
So they gave me the maganizium which made me pretty sick
but it slowed the contractions down. But because it didn't
stop them they wanted to send me to the Portland hospital
where they could better care for us if you were born. So
around 6 Saturday July 27 we were on our way to Portland in
the ambulance. Your aunt got ahold of Nana (who was a
complete mess) and Papa and they were headed back from
Foxwoods. They wouldn't be there until around 11 though
because of the long drive. So we got to Portland and got
settled in and around 10 the contractions stopped. Your
Auntie Danica was coming down to the hosptial to see me and
to pick Nana up because Papa had to bring Aunt Darcie and
Uncle Dale home because they had all gone together to
Foxwoods. Well your auntie Danica being the wonderful
driver she is and being so good with directions missed the
exit to the hospital. So he had to get off the next exit
turn around and get back on the highway heading the other
way. Well she was able to do this without any problem but
not to far down the road she hits a deer. Her car now is
undriveable and me, daddy and Nana are all at the hospital
with NO vehicles. So Auntie calls the hosptial and tells
Nana that she just hit a deer and needs someone to come get
her. So Nana calls Papa and has him turn around and come
back to Portland to pick up your aunt and her. Well Papa
was not able to find auntie on the highway so she had to
have the Police bring her to the hospital and then everyone
went home from there. Well needless to say your weren't
born that night but what a hell of a night it was!!!!!!!

Love

Mommy
