suicide part II

741 days until I'm 18

Dear Bob,
We arrived at the back doors to Ten Broeck at around 7PM.
There were windows around where we standing, and those were
the windows of the guy's ward, as I later found out. We
were waiting on someone from the Staff to unlock the door
for us. Finally some guy came. They had to strip-search me,
and made me go sleep in the "Quiet Room", which was under
camera servelance. The person who had the night shift had
their tv on really loudly all night, plus they woke me up
at 2AM to get a piss test. Needless to say, I was a bit
grumpy. The next morning, it was Saturday. They woke me up
at 10AM, and sent me down to the Girls' Day Room to have
breakfast. I have a very vague memory of what happened soon
afterward, which is why I almost never ate/drank there,
because I thought the food/drinks were drugged. There was a
groupt therapy meeting later on. The only thing I said
was, "Hi. My name is Lydia. I'm here because I ODed on
Aspirin. My goal for today is to behave." After the meeting
they let us go to our rooms. This time I got a normal room,
with a roomate. Her name was Sarah. I had become pretty
good friends with her. She had been there a day longer than
me, and already she had caught on to everything that was
happening. She helped me out a lot. The dumbest part of
this "hospital" was the red-yellow-green levels. When you
first get there you are automatically on red level, the
worst one. Then as you get along and behave and stuff, you
go to yellow level. If you are super good and a good
example to the rest of the people in you ward, you
get "awarded" by being green level, which means you get to
stay up until 9:30PM. Hoot-hoot. Anyhoo, I managed to get
on green-level my second day. It takes most people at least
a week. The way I did it was, one of the staff members was
making all the members of my ward sign some paper about
lost personal belongings. No one wanted to sign, because it
stated that if something is lost or stolen, it isn't Ten
Broeck's responsibility. I really couldnt care less, as I
had nothing valuable there, anyway. So, I stood up, went
over to where the papers were, picked one up and signed it.
Two seconds after, they all signed a paper, putting I
managed to get on green-level my second day. It takes most
people at least a week.
