ramblings of a madwoman

h-o-t outside.

2:17pm

Christ, it is a hundred billion degrees outside and just
about as hot in here. i'm still in my pyjamas and no, i
don't care.

let's see... i can't even remember when i last updated this
sucker. i'm only doing it because adam reminded/pestered
me. it seems that my family has caught wind of my little
website and has been visiting. hello family. you are scary
and are responsible for every terrible thing i do.

just kidding.

i returned on friday from a week at my cabin on Green Lake.
it's really nice there, and i did some fun stuff, but at
the same time, it lacks technology and i tend to get sucked
into doing stuff up there that gets me hurt. hell, we had a
kickass treefort in the back of the lot a while ago that
collapsed while i was in it, along with four other girls,
about 10 feet to the ground. ouch. then just this last
week, i was coerced into horseback riding. now, i like
horses. they are majestic animals, but i see no reason why
i must sit on one while it goes very fast, causing me to
bounce, and thusly, bruise my ass. at any rate, the
bouncing made me nauseous and the trail guide had to take
me back through a shortcut. at one point, i had to get off
the horse and walk with it, and the fucker stepped on my
heel. a horse is a large animal, carrying a lot of weight.
when it steps on you, IT DOESN'T FEEL GOOD AT ALL!!

but anyway, i returned in one piece.

I started my new job about three weeks ago, and so far I
really really enjoy it. it's at Wild West Organic Harvest,
which is an organic food wholesaler in richmond, just off
of no.6 road. i'm a cashier there, and it's just a fun job.
they pay me pretty well too, it's one day a week, an 8 hour
shift, at 9 bucks an hour. that's just great as a part time
job. it doesn't suck much out of my social life except a
friday night and a saturday. (i have to get up at 6:30 to
get there... ech.) it doesn't really tire me out either, so
i can do stuff on saturday nights. anyway, people should
come visit me there, in the early afternoon when the
business slows down. i've gotten pro at the till/scale, i
weigh produce like it's nobody's business. so take that.
one thought though. organic food is fucking expensive. a
jar of peanut butter (it's a small jar) is 7 bucks. a pound
of organic unsalted butter is 8 bucks.
however, the tofu and some of the produce is priced really
well, so if you're a hippie vegan, it's a great place to
shop. we get the most interesting customers.

so my goal of the summer was accomplished, i got a job, and
as a bonus, it doesn't suck my soul.

well, i've got to be getting ready for a family dinner and
whatnot, which involves showering and dressing... plus
cleaning up all kinds of crap around the house. BLEAH! to
parents that like having family dinners every sunday and
insist upon an immaculate house. BLEAH! I say.
