Life, Or Something Like It

Life Games

Actually this occurred to me yesterday. I was talking with a
friend, and I have half heartedly thought about the
existence of human kind, as well as what happens at death.
My imagination got the better of me, so I begun spinning an
interesting tale.

I first supposed that life was like a game. A sport so to
speak. A level on which, random traits and attributes were
..well random. More or less. For instance, there were those
of us who were stronger, smarter, more capable in certain
fields than others. Such talents and such skills.
Intelligence, abilities, flourish across the human spectrum.
Suppose then, we all did not know what we were to do in this
game. It was a virtual reality puzzle. It was like The Sims,
on a larger scale. The whole entertainment was from either
playing the game or watching other people playing it. kind
of like survivor. Where people would get entertained by
watching what people would do, and since there was an almost
limitless possible ways in which one could go about doing
something, or anything for that matter, this is where the
entertainment value comes from.

Suppose, that we aren't really humans, but rather we were
some sort of other form of life, which had perhaps
immortality, or eons of time in which to spend doing
recreational activities. Such as "human life" the game. The
"human life" being the game where we could take on the
persona or form one ourselves in a body with certain limits
physically and mentally. That is, we couldn't fly. But, it
was certainly possible we could calculate wind speed and
come up with the theory of mechanical flight which would
allow us to fly. A simulation where things were almost
infinitely possible. We were beings in which death was
simply the timeout on our characters. Beings which entered
into bodies of "humans" in order to play out this game. The
overall goal being.. not known to "humans" but the overall
scheme of the game was, that what sort of goals would we
think for ourselves?

Or the other conclusion was, from knowing nothing but only
ourselves, and others, and this world we supposedly lived
on, would one of us be able to figure out the correct way of
living our lives? The correct philosophy? The correct goal?
And not even knowing if it was right or not, live out our
lives in that way for the rest of our character's existence?

Our memory would be suppressed for the duration of the game,
that is to say we would not know any sort of super
technological knowledge that would give us unnatural
advantage, or any sort of knowledge of who we really were,
so that we would not ruin the game for others by making them
remember that it was all just a game.

Our character creation would be totally random. White,
black, male, or female. Possesses average strength,
intelligence, emotional quality, or perhaps supra
intelligent, at least within the confines of pre-set
physical laws and any sort of pre-set quantum laws. That is,
gravity is gravity everywhere, and that time is a result of
mass and gravity. Or some other nonesense.

It was an interesting thought at any rate.
