Looking for Love in all the wrong places?

Okay, I'll admit it, once in a while I'll look in the
personal ads just to see what people do for love. I really
can't believe it at times. I do, however see a pattern
here between guys and girls.

You ask a girl what she looks for in a guy, the most
popular repsonse, good sense of humor, outgoing and good
listener among others. When you ask a guy what he looks
for in a girl, he'll tell you she has to be attractive,
outgoing and good sense of humor and maybe at times on the
crazy side. Some guys don't openly admit that they want an
attractive mate but most of the time they do admit it.

Most girls may know that guys are physical pursuers, What I
don't get is why some girls are buying these slinky shirts
and these short-shorts. Surely some of them know that once
they put those clothes on, their bound to get the attention
of guys. Some girls may argue "well, they shouldn't look
then" and it makes me wonder if they want a decent guy why
use bait to get a guy who isn't decent. It's like holding
a piece of meat in front of a dog and telling him "don't
look at it" Stores are making it difficult too. Just the
other day I was at a store trying to find a new pair of
shorts. I couldn't find any that at least hit me mid-
thigh. When I sat down I felt as if I was half-mooning
everyone.

I was picking up my sister from school the other day and I
saw this girl with the shortest shorts I've ever seen. She
was talking to her friend and every once in a while I'd
notice that she'd try to pull the sides of her shorts so
they'd be longer. I got to wonder, is her conscious trying
to tell her that her shorts are too short?

I even question sometimes, why I put on make-up, I'm not
trying to get the attention of anyone? I know what kind of
guy, I'm going to marry someday. Whoever he is, I know he
wouldn't want me flaunting around in short-shorts and
revealing shirts. It would leave little to the imagination
on the wedding night. I have to ask my self each day, am I
dressing to impress or am I dressing to be excellent?

I know some girls who enjoy the cat calls they receive just
walking down the street, and yet they wonder why guys treat
them like a piece of meat? It really seems too simple - if
girls dress like a piece of meat they'll get dogs. If you
meet a guy who seems fairly decent to you, watch his eyes,
you'd be amazed where a guys eyes wander. Or when you turn
to walk away, if you feel eyes on you, ask a guy "where
were your eyes just now?"

I wouldn't say girls should dress like the Mona Lisa or a
simple nun. They just shouldn't dress in a way that
says "somebody please pay attention to me!" I saw a shirt
the other day that was just too funny! It was a slinky
tank-top that said in the front "virginity is sexy" I
thought wearing that shirt you won't be attracting too many
virgins.

My heart breaks when I see junior high girls wearing things
that reveal, I almost want to go up to her and hand her a t-
shirt, but I can't. I wonder where does she get this stuff
from? An older sister? What she watches on T.V? Or does
Mom buy it for her?

Being modest is not boring, in fact, it's doing a favor to
guys. It's respecting their strive to be pure and giving
your future husband the priveledge of not being the last to
see what you've already revealed.
