Early Start

I was up at 5 a.m. this morning and when I heard the weather
report on the radio--highs in the mid 80s-- I decided to get
an early start on the baking. I had the blueberry pie out
of the oven by 6 a.m. and the banana bread in shortly
afterwards. I made a fruit salad from the good bananas (the
over-ripe ones went into the banana bread),diced canteloupe
and some strawberries John's mother gave him Saturday.
Breakfast for everyone--fruit salad, omelets, toast and
orange juice--was at 8:30 a.m. this morning. John wants to
spend his last day of vacation working at the country
house and he wants all three boys helping him until noon.

I plan to spend my morning doing a bit of
grocery shopping--fruit for John's lunch tomorrow,
lettuce and other salad fixings and butter for chocolate
chip cookies. There's the cookies to bake,
the laundry to finish, and other chores including having
lunch ready for four hungry guys at noon.

I plan to spend the afternoon reading and napping
