Dinner

I had a beautiful time last night at Melanie’s. Brenda and
I came over for dinner; I brought the zoot. She made ziti
and garlic bread with her mom. We listened to Nina Simone,
drinking sauvignon Blanc and discussed the affairs of the
world from a minority, woman’s perspective. We sat in a
circle, got zooted some more and told each other eerie
ghost stories. We looked out the windows and tried to
determine whether or not her neighbor is growing some goo.
We sat on the porch and listened to Billy Holiday wail sad
songs about lost men and such. We ate mixed fruit salads
and sat in front of her living room television, marveling
at just how witty South Park is.

The smell of jasmine made me heady. I didn't want to go
home. I wanted to sleep in their living room floor and
watch Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo uplift the people of
South Park to mass commercialism. I wanted to eat mixed
fruit and skip work today.

Having friends is simply lovely.
It’s good to be truly blessed.
