Name

parents give their children good names with the hopes that
their children will be great too. or perhaps that their
children will take after the great person who once held
that name. for example, martin luther king was named after
martin luther. i'm not really sure if martin luther king
really lived up to the name...but they were both great.

i once asked somebody what he would want to call his future
daughters and he said he would want to call them katrina
and michelle. i thought they were extremely plain
names...until i saw the pictures of katrina and michelle.
they were girls he knew..and probably girls he held close
to his heart. they were both beautiful women.

'we have a secretary here also called candice so i like
calling her name. but problem is she does not have
personality and character, must change her name soon....'

the day before i received that email, i was talking to a
friend about 'boringness'. i mentioned that i find myself
pretty boring. she disagreed. she said she found herself
boring and i disagreed. but yeah...i am boring and she's
not.

so how did i end up with the name candice? it was a last
minute thing...at least that's what i was told. when i was
still in my mother's womb, my parents thought i was a boy
so they prepared a boy's name like chester or something.
and then i came out. lo and behold i am a girl with my ears
all folded up. and they ran to the big book of names,
randomly opened a page, and saw 'candice'. hurray. so
that's my name.

candice. it means pure and fire-white. i'm far from pure.
perhaps i do have the fire...but i don't know if i'm white.
i'm more gray than white.

but right now i'm too sleepy which is why i have nothing
really significant to say. all i wanna do is rest.

night y'all.
