good times

The past few days have been rather eventful and exciting.
I worked on Thursday and Friday. The people...well most of
them, are nice and I'm enjoying meeting new people. :-) It
is very different from work at home, quite a bit more
shady. But, I'm trying not to compare the 2 too much out
loud so they don't get mad or ill at me, etc. After my mom
called to tell me the good news, I told the girls and gave
lots of big hugs, I think I almost cried. Except this time
they were happy, excited tears instead of tears of
frustration that they are used to. :-p I'm pretty
scared...well not so much now, just in the back of my
mind. Slowly though...as we approach August...it will be
more and more scary. But I'm really excited also. Very
very excited.
When I got home on Thursday the girls had bought a lil
congratulations cake. So we had some...hehe. Friday night
they also took me out to eat at O'Charley's.
(Ha...O'Charley's with chicken o tenders. Ha.) A late
night dinner...very late night. :-) We had fun though.
Today...has been full of getting things done. I've done
quite a lot if I do say so myself.
I got up at 8 this morning...8 on a Saturday? Well,
actually I get up at 8:00 usually these days, but I was
impressed with myself. I took a shower and started a load
of laundry. Spoke with my mother b/c she was trekking to
Sanford to meet me for lunch and to give me some papers I
needed. Meredith was kind enough to have the coffee pot
all ready. I just had to turn it on. Breakfast of
strawberries and coffee. Yum.
Post Office run on the way out, which resulted in a wedding
invitation and a huge packet of stuff from my mother, which
included the following poem which my brother wrote in 5th
grade. Well, actually....it was based on an actual poem,
he just filled in the blanks. I left his spelling as it

If I were in charge of the world I'd cancel school,
vollyball, cafatiria food, and also Kathryn Trivette.
If I were in charge of the world There'd be brighter
nights, healthier people, and baseball fields 48' smaller.
If I were in charge of the world You wouldn't have criprle
You wouldn't have time.
You wouldn't have spines.
Or "cameras on buses."
You wouldn't even have buses.
If I were in charge of the world a chocolate sundae with a
brownie wipped cream and nuts and fudge and a cherry, would
be a fruit, and have 1 calorie and no fat. And you could
only read books by Gary Paulsen. (He was all about Hatchet
books and such.
And a person who sometimes forgot to feed the cats.
And sometimes forgot to do homework, Would still be allowed
to be In charge of the world.
Poem from: Judith Viorst

Ha...yes, he was a strange little boy, who apparently did
not like me so much.

To be continued....
