My Adventure Du Jour
I didn't have to make the trip to Corvallis this afternoon
after all. Gavin's tuition deposit for Oregon State
University was supposed to be received by May 1st but when I
called they said today's postmark would be fine so I mailed
it instead.
I did end up making two trips to Junction City though. The
first was for a blood pressure check followed by a routine
dental cleaning. My blood pressure was not all that
great--144/96 but my teeth are fine. No new fillings
necessary. That was good news!
Just as a returned home I felt something coming out of my
ear (I've had ear problems for years) and put my hand up to
touch it. I saw blood on my fingers. Oh, this was not
good. I called the doctor's office and talked to a nurse.
She suggested that I call my ear doctor and if he couldn't
see me that afternoon to come in and see my family doctor.
I wasn't real thrilled with driving all the way into Eugene
but it turned out I didn't have to as the doctor was
over-booked already. So back I went to Junction City. He
looked in my ears but couldn't see much and said there may
have been a perforation. Of what, I don't know. I don't
have any pain. He gave me a presciption for antibiotics and
told me to take them until I could get in to see the ear
doctor. I called later and made an appointment. The
earliest she could get me in is May 13th. So that was my
adventure du jour.
The rest of the day was pretty quiet. I did laundry and
dishes and made a batch of peanut butter cookies for lunches
and turned in early.
