Reflections of a Year

Today is a day not to be spoken of. Everyone who knows me knows
what happened to me April 18th, 2001. But for those who do not,
which no one who doesn't know me ever reads this, I will tell you. A
year ago today, the boy that I am still madly in love with asked me
out. We broke up 6 months later on the 3rd day of school. So today
means 6 months together and 6 months apart. Oh and I forgot to
mention that after the break up, he decided that all the love he said
he had for me, was now hate, and even till now, he loathes the air I
breath. He's even gone to the point where he's yelled flat out in
the hall that I should be shot in the head. Now I know you all are
asking yourselves why I am still in complete lust with this boy after
all this, but there is something else, something else that keeps my
heart with him. Now don't get me wrong, I have the best boyfriend
right now and he loves me so much, and that whole relationship has
very little to do with this which I speak of. I know that what I had
with this person I can never ever have again so I've learned, very
hard, to just keep the feelings to myself and not to let them
interfere with the relationship that I am in now. Back to why I
still hold a spot for this boy in my heart, It wasn't the kind of
relationship that I was use to. He lived only across the street from
me so I could see him any time that I wanted to, and that he was
home, if the times matched. He was so sweet to me when he wasn't
pushing me into moving trucks or getting me into trouble at the
principles office. I felt like he was the only one who really cared,
the only one who loved me for me and not what everyone thought of
me. How wrong I was. Now this might sound a bit odd, but doing this
lets me get it all out of my head, therefor helping me get over him
though I might not want to. But anyway, I’m going back to the first
day I met him and you’re going with me. I was sitting under the palm
tree doing nothing after school when this really really hot kid came
up and started making fun of Melissa, which was SO funny. So this
kid, this boy, walked up and started talking to some of the boys I
hang out with so I went over there, I had my little snake print
wooden shoes on, and I wanted to get his attention so I showed him my
chick thong. That is how I got his attention. Then it was about a
week, give or take a day or two, before he asked me out April 18th
the Wednesday of Spring/Easter Break 2001. Then we broke up
September 8th, the third day of school. It seems like so long since
I've felt his arms around me. Paradise came to existance a year ago
today.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The kids screamin', phone ringin'
Dog barkin' at the mailman bringin'
That stack of bills, overdue
Good morning, baby, how are you
Got a half hour, a quick shower
Take a drink of milk, but the milk's gone sour
My funny face makes you laugh
Twist the top on, and I put it back
There goes the washin' machine
Baby, don't kick it
I promise I'll fix it
'Long about a million other things
Well, it's okay, it's so nice
(It's) just another day in paradise
Where there's no place that
I'd rather be
Well, it's two hearts
And one dream
I wouldn't trade it for anything
And I ask the Lord every night, ooh
For just another day in paradise
Friday, you're late
Guess we'll never make our dinner date
At the restaurant you start to cry
Baby, we'll just improvise
Well, Plan B looks like
Dominoes' pizza in the candlelight
Then we'll tippy toe to our room
Make a little love that's overdue
But somebody had a bad dream
Mama and daddy
(Can) me and my teddy
Come in and sleep in between
Well, it's okay, it's so nice
(It's) just another day in paradise
Where there's no place that
I'd rather be
Well, it's two hearts
And one dream
I wouldn't trade it for anything
And I ask the Lord every night, ooh
For just another day in paradise
Well, it's okay, it's so nice
(It's) just another day in paradise
Where there's no place that
I'd rather be
Well, it's two hearts
And one dream
I wouldn't trade it for anything
And I ask the Lord every night, ooh
For just another day in paradise
For just another day in paradise, oh yeah
Well, it's the kids screamin', the phone ringin'
Just another day
Well, it's Friday, you're late
Oh, yeah
It's just another day in paradise
(Another Day in Paradies?)
