The Choir

The fist time I saw John was in our church choir. My bug
eyes just about popped out of their sockets because when I
saw him, I saw $$$. I saw myself retired, driving a new
car, going on cruises and other nice vacations, living in
Colleyville, which might as well be Hollywood, and with a
secure future. John took me from rags to riches. Thanks
to him, I can make numerous trips to the salon so I can
keep my hair red.

I pulled Marissa aside and told her that John had a great
singing voice. I was hoping she would run to John and tell
him so that I could have a chance to introduce myself.
Marissa helped me meet the man of my dreams. I do feel a
little guilty for using Marissa but I did what I had to do
to survive. I needed cash and John was my meal ticket.

I guess Marissa picked up on my scheming ways and she and
Aric told John about my horrid past. I had to lie to John
and say I never dated a black guy, because I knew John
wouldn't like that I hadn't been honest with him. Marissa
had no real proof, so I lied and John believed me. I was
so worried about all these skeletons in my closet that my
white roots were coming through fast. I had to put red on
my hair twice that month!

I called my daughter Leslie and my son Scott and apologized
to them for lying about their dad to John and his family.
I didn't tell anyone that I had been married twice before
and that John was my third victim, er I mean, husband.
Charles wasn't really abusive, but I had to make John feel
sorry for me. I had to make it believable so I said that
he took a contract out on my life. This way, John wouldn't
try to question me about it. I had to make them fear
Charles so I said he had mafia connections. It worked and
now I'm just waiting to cash in the life insurance.
