Stupid SUV's

Well, yesterday marked the fourth accident I have had in
my car. I was on my way home from Long Beach for
Spring Break. I was getting off of the 101 freeway at Van
Nuys boulevard and going inching in the line of cars to
get to the stoplight at the bottom of the off-ramp. I was
going so slow that my speedometer was reading ZERO
miles per hour. I took my eye off the car ahead of me for
.00001 seconds to adjust my radio volume. The next
thing I know I hear a huge crunch and see red platic fly
all over the place. I had just hit a huge GMC Denali with
a big chrome trailer hitch.

We both pulled over to the side of the off-ramp to talk.
The girl driving this monster of a vehicle must have
been in her mid twenties. She was like 5'8" tall. She
asked if I was okay and I said I was... I turned and
looked at the damage to my car for the first time. There
was hole punched through my bumper, my headlight
was pushed about 3 inches inward. I opened the hood
and my radiator support had been twisted and pretty
much anything on the front passenger side was out of
whack. She inspected the damage to her SUV, which
was my red paint chips addorning her polished chrome
trailer hitch... she brushed them aside with ease and
thus there was nothing wrong with her road behemoth.

I dropped my car off at the bodyshop today and I get the
car back on Wednesday or Thursday... after handing
over $1063. I cried when I got home from the accident
yesterday. What a guy thing to do... cry over a car, but I
couldn't help it. I was telling my mom how sorry I am,
and I lost it. I am just tired of my life sacings getting
depleted by another $1000 to fix an accident that could
have been avoided had I had my foot on the brake for
that fraction of a second.

I dont understand why that girl had to be driving a
huge-ass SUV. Had it been a REGULAR size
automobile I probably would have just had to buff a
scratch or something, but no. I have to live in a country
where gas guzzling, damage inducing SUV's rule the
road. I can understand if a person is a contruction
worker or some other occupation that requires a truck
to haul equipment... but when a twenty year old girl is
driving a SUV that could fit a large family, it becomes
ridiculous and stupid.

Let me now reiterate what I have said hundreds of
times to many people. I WILL NEVER OWN A TRUCK
OR SUV!!! If I need to carry kids later on in life I can have
a nice station wagon or something. I dont require a
vehicle that it 3 feet off the ground that gets 10 miles to
the gallon to carry children. Its just ludicrous.

And why did that girl have a huge-ass trailer hitch on
that SUV. I didnt see her towing a boat or anything. I had
never been used I bet, she just got it as an option
package at the dealer. Why do you need a trailer hitch if
you dont tow anything? AHHHHHH!!!! Im going to go to
sleep now. Goodnight =)
