Alone Once Again

here i am..sitting in front of my computer. alone once
again. my mind's a mess. my heart's broken to bits. my soul
is wounded, my spirit crying.

i look in the mirror
and see a face
with eyes bloodshot
with cheeks streaked by
the tears that ran
and jumped
and died.

i lifted a hand scarred
by cuts that run
from skin to bone
from bone to skin
that made me wail
i'm lost
i've lost.

my soul has lost the flame
the reason for being
the courage to live
the road travelled
has abandoned
all hope
all meaning.
