Life, considered further.

Perhaps one thing we have to come to terms with is the fact
that our time on this earth isn't infinite. For some
people, they can understand this when they're 13, for
others, it takes until they're in their late 80s.

What is the meaning of life?

There is nothing wrong with this question, and I do not
believe there is a wrong answer to it. There may be answers
that are worse than others, but that doesn't mean they're
wrong. Everyone is going to have a different opinion
on 'why we're here'. I'm only 15, and I would be lying if I
said I knew the real answer to 'What is the meaning of
life.' My own purpose I'm not even sure of. I may form an
occasional opinion now and then, but I will always change
it or revise or add to it later on.

If there is one thing I'd want to learn to do in my
lifetime, it would be to have the ability to stare someone
in the face, and tell them how I feel about them. Material
possesions are nothing unless you have someone to share
them with, even if its someone you don't love but can talk
to. Those who we care about are the most precious things we
could ever have, as are those who care about us. Some fail
to realize, or refuse to believe that someone could care
about them. I was that way for a good portion of my life,
however short it has been so far. Of course, I'm sure it
has something to do with low self-esteem, but at the same
time, it might have something to do with the need to have
people tell you they care.

Frankly, I'm sure some people will read this and
think 'What the hell?' And others will think 'Thats just
corny'. I can't tell you what to think, thats up to you,
but at the same time everyone should try to have an open
mind. To merely try understanding something is important,
perhaps even more important than fully understanding it.
Its likely in most cases, no-one will ever understand
exactly what someone else meant, but the important part is
they tried to.

I'm always curious as to where the saying 'Absence makes
the heart grow fonder' came from. I always assumed it had
something to do with the fact that humans tend to get tired
of someone they're around all the time.

Perhaps another important part of life is being able to
talk about how you feel. What point is there to
understanding if you're only going to keep your opinions to
yourself. Perhaps you're hurting because of something
someone said or did. Keeping hurt to yourself will do
nothing to help it, no matter how much you argue it will.
Of course you may not feel it, but it will always be there.
Hurt and pain do not just disappear. Emotions work that way
as well. There can be people who appear emotionless, but
that is usually because they shell their feelings within
themselves, or they are afraid to say something. This is
merely speculation on my part.

People have tried for years to transfer emotions and
understanding into writing and stories and poems and art.
Even comedy took tragedy and just exagerated it. Comedy is
a good thing to look at. Hilarity. One of the best things
someone can learn to do is to laugh at their own actions.
Everyone does something stupid now and then, so its good to
learn to live with it.

Thats the end of the serious part.
