victim of circumstance
all i know is i don't know nothing
Quiet Desperation
Humans lead lives of quiet desperation
People live in constant indecision
There's always a shadow of resignation
And our hearts are cut with frightening precision
Take me to where the river flows
Where everything's always, but nobody knows
Where there are whispers of what is already known
Take me to where spirits have soared and shadows flown
He gathers stars behind mountain and sky in his spare time
yet cries, "Brother, could you spare a dime?"
Although so low, he's better than us and higher than all
Even when impossible, he picks himself up from his fall
She floats on clouds and graces earth with her presence
Mere mortals are blinded by her self-imposed effervescence
One day she wakes up and realizes life's not all it seems
And goes back to sleep to live forever in her dreams
Wants, never needs; takes, never gives
And what kind of life is this?
Lies, never truth; dies, never lives
And what kind of life is this?
Humans lead lives of quiet desperation
People live in constant indecision
There's a soulless shadow of resignation
And our lives are cut with lightning precision
