My Poetry
A Told Tale
Dont tell me who I am.
I am not yours for the taking.
I am my own for the giving.
Weep not for my innocence lost.
Hand me none of your frost.
Dont tell me who I am.
I am a virgin; I am a harlot.
Feed me no lies for I shant be bought.
Say that you love me and play no games.
For you, a man of devilish fames.
Dont tell me who I am.
For you shall never know.
Deep within the river bed, deep below,
This is were I sleep,
Never to eat, nor laugh, nor dance, nor weep.
Innocence Lost
Out of the mouths of babes
Im hungry. Im scared. Im lost.
Words of a child with no cost.
No masks to hide from the world,
All bight-eyed innocence unfurled.
Out of the mouths of babes
Who? What? Why? Really?
Questions pour ever so freely,
Uninhibited by fear or lust,
Not yet touched by deaths distant dust.
Out of the mouths of babes
A Giggle. A smile. Hello.
Lighting up life, sun-shining yellow.
Never ending hope and glee,
Oh how I wish that were me.
Out of the mouths of babes
Thank you. May I? Please.
The simple plea fulfilled with ease.
A childs delicate wish holds more might
Than the destruction, the casualties of mans continual
fight.
Silent I stand.
All American Hero
Ten minutes ago,
I met you,
A baby was born,
A man dies of cancer.
Ten minutes ago,
I found you,
She says, I love you,
A woman is raped.
Ten minutes ago,
I hugged you,
Spring has begun,
AIDS kills another.
Ten minutes ago,
I betrayed you.
Life Simple Mysteries
Man yet not known,
I see your face.
Man yet not known,
I feel your breath.
Man yet not known,
I know your voice.
Man yet not known,
I taste the sweetness of your skin.
Man yet not known,
I savor your scent.
Man yet not known,
Where are you now?
Man yet not known,
I love you still.
Are you he?
