Seeing Jesus

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:13
Wow. Can you imagine seeing Jesus? Can you imagine
really, finally coming face-to-face with the One you've
been in love with all your life? What would you think when
you saw His robe and read the words "KING OF KINGS AND LORD
OF LORDS"? A lot of Christians have been tossing that
description of Jesus around for ages. But do you get it?
There are kings and lords all over the earth--have been for
hundreds of years. You've heard about them in history class-
King David, King Saul, King Louis XIV, King Henry VIII.
You've heard about them in literature class--Alfred, Lord
Tennyson, and George Gordon, Lord Byron. Kings and lords
are known primarily for their power, their wealth, their
military might, and their positions as rulers over groups
of people. Jesus Christ puts it all to shame. You talk
about power. His power can raise the dead. You talk about
wealth. His father owns the cattle on a thousand hills
(Psalm 50:10). You talk about military might. He’s raising
up an army that will someday defeat the raging forces of
Satan. You talk about a ruler. He rules the whole world.
Philippians 2:10 says that “every knee should bow, of those
in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the
earth” at just the mention of His name. He is the King of
all the kings who have ever ruled and the Lord of every
lord. Go ahead. Enthrone Him in your heart. You’ll never
find a more loving, merciful, gracious King.
See for yourself: 1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 17:14
