Hello there! today is a beautiful first day of SPRING and 
I for one, am glad it is here! I am not a fan of the "cold"
I have had a MOUNTAIN of email asking me about SURVEYS and 
which ones are the best? which ones pay? etc etc..because 
very often you will see me write in the newsletter that I 
rec'd $$ from survey company or I may post on the forum 
about some $$ or Freebies from surveys.

the purpose of surveys is to make products better or more 
appealing to certain demographics of people, to better the 
odds of the company making money.  The survey money comes 
from ADVERTISING dollars, and there is a ton of  
cmpetition between those that want to do surveys and get 
paid!  COMPANIES want your HONEST opinion, not what you 
think they want to hear, and they want you to answer as 
completely as possible.  This is why some of them are 
REALLY long and redundant, to make sure you are not just 
answering ANY ANSWER to get thru and get your reward

this link gives you the list of ALL of the ones I am 
signed up for except for a FEW recent ones that I haven't 
had time to put up.   YES it is a HUGE list and YES it 
does take time to fill them out, but that is EXACTLY how 
you get the surveys in your inbox, FILLING THEM ALL OUT.

if you don't want to "waste your time" on the surveys that 
don't pay instantly sign up for VIVADENCE they pay ya 
EVERYTIME in AMAZON GIFT CERTIFICATES (one of the few) and 
BUZZ BACK REWARDS is another ($5 cash most of the time) 
and then check the forum for posts from freelances that 
say HURRY cuz ya betta be fast or you will miss out if you 
delay

Not every survey pays you INSTANTLY, many are sent out as 
PRESCREENERS for the paying surveys and you may only get 
points or you may only get a contest entry when doing one, 
and this discourages people and I often hear the ATTITUDE
"well I am not going to waste my time if I am getting 
nothing from this"   THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I GET MORE 
SURVEYS FOR CASH, when people don't take the time to do 
the prescreens, contest entries etc..........and I do, 
that puts me further ahead in getting to the FOCUS GROUPS 
and other GREAT THINGS!

Focus groups are sometimes on the phone, in person or on 
the net.  The LEAST I have been paid for a focus group is 
$20 the most $150!   WELL WORTH THAT PRESCREENER TIME! :)

I have NEVER not been given what is promised for a 
survey.  But sometimes people are not paid as promised 
because they do not do the survey "in good faith" meaning 
they don't answer completely or try to FOOL the online 
survey company just answering ANY ANSWER or answer not 
relevent to the question.   


There are many many surveys for contest entries and PEOPLE 
DO WIN THEM!  I know because I have been a winner before 
and many freelancers have written to say I CANNOT BELIEVE 
I WON!  


NEVA NEVA NEVA pay for information in regard to Getting 
paid for surveys.  this information is FREE and should 
remain FREE!  there are a TON of spammers out there that 
offer you the information that I have on the 
web.........but they want $$ to give it to you and then 
VERY OFTEN they take your email address and sell it to 
other smammers for MORE MONEY in THEIR POCKET!

SURVEYS often fill up very quickly in certain age groups, 
and categories.  So you have to ACT FAST on the BEST ONES 
(the ones that pay instantly) to get in.  If you are a 
TYPICAL demographic  FEMALE - AGE 25-40 - White - income 
$30,000- $50,000-  then you will have to act even more 
quickly to get in depending on WHAT they want opinions on.

NOW, the GOOD NEWS IS that once you are a member of the 
SURVEY AND FOCUS GROUPS you usually will get emails or 
phone calls TARGETED TO YOUR PARTICULAR DEMOGRAPHIC 
(meaning with or without kids, age, marital status etc) 
and you will more than likely be able to complete the 
surveys you get without problem.   

I allow my daughter to do online surveys too, and believe 
me she has loved her little checks and goodies to give her 
opinion on.  She has gotten Free make up, clothes, snack 
items and music cds!   I enter her information and do what 
ever I have to do to give her permission but I monitor the 
TYPE of surveys that she gets (my inbox not hers) before 
she does them. 

all in all..........I guess the point of this diary entry 
is to tell you DO THE SURVEYS EVEN IF YOU DONT GET PAID 
INSTANTLY if you want to make it to the focus group level 
EVER.............and DO THE SURVEYS to help the companies 
without expecting to get anything right away and MAYBE you 
will be surprised one day with $500 check and a 
congratulations!  One thing is for sure, if you dont do 
them you CANNOT WIN anything and that will give the people 
that DO THEM better odds! :)

I hope this helps you understand the NATURE of surveys and 
their purpose, and how the prescreeners work.  I find them 
to be interesting and profitable, but like anything else, 
you get out what you put in usually.
