Early Thursday Morning

Thursday, December 7, 2017
5:15 A.M.

I woke up at 4:00 A.M. this morning, which is early for me. Perhaps I will take a nap soon. I went to bed at my normal time of 10:00 P.M. and feel rested. I don't like it when my sleep is off. I usually need about ten hours. I'm sure I will nod off during the day.

Late yesterday afternoon, I watched a PBS show called, "Passing On". I've watched this show three times now. It's about how we deal with end of life issues. I will be going to the Recovery Innovations facility in Phoenix next month to get help with my will, durable power of attorney, and advanced directives. My case manager said that they offer assistance for free. I hope I can get this done, as I've been putting it off for too long. But watching this TV documentary has helped me understand some of the things I need to consider. They have a website where there's supposed to be additional information. I plan to check it out soon.

The coordinator for our behavioral health groups around the valley called me yesterday and asked me if I would be able to be a backup facilitator for a Sunday night group that might be restarting after the facilitator for that group passed away a couple of years ago. He said he's not sure if the group will restart at this time, but wanted to know if I could help now and then if it should restart. There is a woman who is interesting in started this group up again, but my coordinator said she gets sick a lot. I told him I would, which I shouldn't have said because I've been thinking about resigning as a facilitator. I already have our Tuesday night group that I am a facilitator for. I guess it will be o.k. I can always say no.

The fires in southern California are worsening. Phoenix is just five hours away. Today they have a Red Flag Warning for most of Arizona, meaning that there is a risk of fires. The wind in southern California and most of Arizona, including the metro Phoenix area, has been strong for the past few days. This morning there's no change. If a fire broke out here, it would spread rapidly. They've evacuated thousands in southern California already. Let's hope that the wind dies down.

I don't have anywhere I need to go today. My driver license did arrive in the mail, so I'm good for another five years. I have some spot cleaning to do, but that's about it. Today might be a long day if I don't find things of interest to do.

I've decided not to destroy my older MacBook. It's a nice computer even when the wireless is turned off. I particularly like the graphics.

I can't think of anything more. Peace and prosperity to all.
