Day 2

Today I went to breakfast with autumn and sat with the other girls too. Breakfast was great today! Scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits. The girls that were on caffeine withdrawal were allowed to have coffee today. I took all three medications this morning and started to feel nauseous after I ate.
We had group therapy again today. We filled out papers on our stress, anxiety, depression and psychosis levels. We set goals for the day. The group was able to compare them and share their coping mechanisms with the group. Two things that stood out to me were "Ground yourself in reality" and "Color". One boy said he would hold onto tangible objects when having a panic attack or a bout of psychosis. I thought I would try that sometime. Another girl said she liked to color, especially with intricate designs. I knew there were coloring pages in the dining room and I thought that at free time I might try it!
Our next class was sensory intervention. We talked about the five main senses but also the other four senses that exist: Proprioception (balance and coordination), Nociception (sense of pain), Interoception (sense of needs like thirst and hunger) and time perception (the bodies internal clock). We discussed how these senses all affect mental health.
I skipped spiritual intervention because I feel very distant from religion. I took a nap instead. I felt very nauseous.
After lunch we had another group therapy and a recap on our goals set for the day. I reached my goal. It was to talk more and try harder. After this we had arts and crafts. I chose to not make the craft and just color. I found that it helped a lot. I worked on my page throughout free time until dinner. Dinner was hamburgers and potato wedges.
I was able to call again tonight. Mom was happy to hear from me. She went shopping today and is actually enjoying staying in a hotel alone for the time I'm here.
