Kevin came to therapy

I had therapy at 11 and a psychiatrist appointment at 12. I had asked kevin if he would mind going with me - to learn more about bipolar disorder, specifically the manic side. He agreed skeptically. I don't think he believes therapy will help but I'm glad he's willing to go with me. Kevin explained that he wasn't mad at me about cutting but mad that I hadn't called him or mom or someone before doing it. He said that he just wished that I saw how strong I was...Before we went he planned a trip to goodwill to look for fall sweaters and a trip to a donut shop to get breakfast. Those donuts were so good and I don't usually like cake! I got three and he got three (they're mini donuts, don't worry!). We can really to therapy a little sticky from breakfast. When we went up to the front desk, the receptionist seemed off balance. She reached for the card reader and fell backwards hitting her head on the floor. I'm so awkward and on the other side of the counter - I didn't know what to do!
Finally my therapist came out and took us to his room down the back hallway. Kevin, being the gentleman he is, held the door for both of us. Therapy went well. I talked about my crazy week and about my manic state. He recommended more sleeping medication and later so did my psychiatrist. I asked if he would explain manic states to kevin and he did. He told kevin that "you can't be both boyfriend and therapist" which I think kevin was trying to do. I'm so proud and honored that he would attend therapy with me. I'm so happy he's in my life.
