Today my fair Mom turned fifty-five! She has a jubilee. Today she became a pensioner a second time. Fifty-five is a standard retirement age for women in Russia.
We invited the sister of my late granny Rimma Rasskazova (Russian: Римма Рассказова), Galina Chilek (Russian: Галина Чилек) or granny Galya, my Aunt Olga Brezgina (Russian: Ольга Брезгина) and Vladislav Brezgin (Russian: Владислав Брезгин), her husband. All of us spent around two hours sitting at the table telling jokes, eating and just communicating in a relaxed way. To be honest, I was sort of carried away with my anxious thoughts and speculations and spent the whole day lying in my bed. I could hardly compel myself to get out from under the rug and plunge into the celebration. We had sausages, plums, bananas, some black bread and Pan Smetan, a sweet cake. Moreover, my ex-wife Anna gave me a call while we were eating a delicious halibut pie. She told me she had had an operation on her breasts, and that her thyroid gland is in a dreadful precancerous condition. Apart from all that, she is still single and she does not have anyone in view… We talked for about twenty minutes.
Later, the guests left. I said “goodbye” and expressed gratitude for their visit.
